MIF 2024, one of Europe’s largest trade fairs for banknotes and other paper valuables, will take place from 3 to 5 May in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Along with more than 230 exhibitors, the Sberatel Fair will also be present at the event with its beer tasting booth.
This year, the MIF will occupy a 3,500 m² area in the MECC Maastricht convention centre, which will be attended by dealers, investors and collectors of banknotes, bonds, shares, coins and medals from all over the world.
An exceptional service provided at MIF is the opportunity to have banknotes and other historical valuables graded on site by the internationally renowned specialist PMG. The latter determines the degree of preservation of the collector’s material, which is one of the key things in selling it.
The whole process otherwise takes several weeks, when the valued item must be sent to the company’s headquarters. At the fair, the so-called “grading” takes place immediately and without transfer fees. PMG will have a team of twenty experts in Maastricht directly from its US headquarters. Find out more about the service here.
During the MIF there will also be presentations by the Royal Dutch Banknote Printer Joh. Enschede. Experts from the printer will present the entire production process from the banknote sketch to the production of the printing plate and will show all the security features used, such as watermarking, UV filament, hologram film, microtext or embossing.
The fair also includes an auction of banknotes and other numismatic material organised by Stacks Bowers.
The first day of the fair, 3 May, is for dealers, while Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May are free to the general collecting public.
